NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Breathe Carolina - “Blackout”

That’s how I would describe my reaction to The Static Jacks’ new album, If You’re Young. The first time I came across this band, I knew they had a unique sound. Some people would agree and say that they have a fantastically unique sound, while others would say it’s completely horrible. I was a unsure of which side I was on…until I heard the album in it’s entirety. It has such a great vibe to it that makes it impossible for me to hate. Every song I listen to makes me like them more and more.

Please take some time out to give this album a listen. I think it’s worth it. It’s currently streaming on Purevolume and you can purchase it from iTunes by clicking here.

what to even say about this album? or this band for that matter. this is one of my go-to albums. you know what i’m talking about. those albums that you listen to over and over again when you’re in the shittiest of moods or in the most incredible mood. words can’t describe how much this band means to me. i remember first buying this album and falling in love with it. i also remember a short while after, i was watching MTV’s Super Sweet 16 and some girl from Jersey had her party at Velocity 17, which is only 15 minutes from me. i also remember her asking for a band to come play and her parents had gotten her The Maine. i remember kinda freaking out because i wished i was her, but also because she didn’t seem to care. she didn’t know their names or anything. she walked away and turned to her friend saying “they’re cute". if i ever had the opportunity to see the Maine, let alone have them at my fuckin birthday party, i would flip a shit just because of how much i respect their music.

their album following this one, Black and White, is one that i constantly have on repeat. it hasn’t left my radio in months because i never get tired of hearing it. this band will always be one of those go-to bands for me that i will never EVER get sick of listening to.

you know those bands you only come across because they’re touring with a different band that you like? thanks to The Downtown Fiction, these guys right here is one of those bands i only came across because they were touring together. i say thanks to TDF because this band right here is fuckin amazing. they toured with TDF way back when neither of them were signed just yet and i decided to give them a listen. it was so good you couldn’t really help but listen to them and dance in your seat. at least, that’s what i did…

eventually i ended up following their band even after they got signed to Fearless and putting out this EP - which i purchased the day of its release. the vocals and lyrics are just incredible. if you have the chance, just take some time out to listen - and hopefully purchase - this album. it’s definitely worth your money. it was worth mine!
