Review:: Reflection | Time Will Tell
New Jersey’s great! It’s got huge stores, and lawns, and you never have to carry a cup again! Not for the rest of your life! I’m not afraid to say it: I love New Jersey!
If you aren’t a fan of How I Met Your Mother, then that may have just seemed like mindless rambling. Either way, abundance of cup holders or not, New Jersey is famous for producing talent, and not just the “actors” from Jersey Shore.
With the reunion of The Early November earlier this year and a new album from The Gaslight Anthem coming this summer, my opinion of the garden state has increased immensely. It has also led me to believe this: New Jersey consistently gives us some of our best music. Frank Sinatra, Saves the Day, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Streetlight Manifesto, Lifetime, oh, and The Boss himself. All that being said (along with my New Yorker sense of superiority), I always tend to expect a lot from bands from New Jersey.
With their second release, an EP titled “Reflection,” South Plainfield’s Time Will Tell provide five solid pop-punk tracks that would make the Midtown boys proud.

my favorite part of any concert is probably when the crowd is singing along so loudly that the lead singer just stops for a minute and listens with a ridiculously happy grin on their face and you can tell that this is the greatest compliment they could ever receive: to have so many people responding so enthusiastically to their words and ideas.
that is my favorite thing about music- it brings people together.

We Start Partys consists of 3 members, Matt Jenkinson on Drums, Dave Sully on Vocals and Bass and Ben Hawthorne on Guitar and Vocals!
Where did the name We Start Partys come from?
We came up with it one day while just sitting down together. We wanted something fun, and summed up the sound we were pushing for, so the idea “We Start Partys” came up. it was a bold statement to make too, but figured it would push us to make sure our live shows are one big party! :D
You guys have been a band for about 3 years now. Can you tell us how We Start Partys formed and came to be what it is today?
“We know what is popular now, we aren’t deaf. We know what songs get put on the top charts of iTunes, and if we wanted we could try to recreate everything that we have heard, and I think that is what is completely wrong with music now a days. Everyone is chasing what is popular. That ends up creating one giant silly song. We know we can change and go back to matching outfits and matching haircuts and probably be referred to as the 2 Direction but it’s not what we want to do. What ever we do in the future is going to be because we want to do it, not because we think it’s going to make us popular.” —
